Fuel consumption, emissions and engine efficiency have a direct impact on the operating cost of commercial fleets. LeefH2™ DH-Power has been developed to address these challenges through advanced hydrogen-assisted combustion technology designed specifically for 9.0L to 16.0L heavy-duty diesel engines.
DH-Power works alongside the engine’s existing diesel fuel system rather than replacing it. Using PEM hydrolysis, the unit generates highly pure hydrogen and oxygen from pure or distilled water only when required. Trace hydrogen is then introduced into the engine’s combustion process to support faster flame propagation and a more efficient fuel burn.
For fleet operators, logistics companies and heavy commercial vehicle users, this more efficient combustion process is designed to translate into lower fuel consumption, improved pulling performance and reduced exhaust emissions.
Designed Around Heavy-Duty Fleet Economics
Fuel is one of the largest recurring costs in long-haul and commercial transport. HNO International specifies 10–18% heavy-haul fuel savings for DH-Power, making the technology particularly relevant to vehicles that accumulate high annual mileage or operate continuously under demanding conditions.
HNO has also published road-test telemetry for loaded heavy-duty vehicles. An 11.6L, 460 hp Auman heavy semi-trailer recorded fuel consumption changing from 33.0 L/100 km to 27.9 L/100 km, reported as 15.5% fuel savings, while an 11.05L, 460 hp FAW Jiefang heavy semi-trailer changed from 34.4 to 29.2 L/100 km, reported as 15.0% savings.

Smart, On-Demand Hydrogen Technology
Hydrogen and oxygen are produced only as required, eliminating the need for onboard compressed-hydrogen tanks. The technology operates with pure or distilled water and does not require corrosive acids, KOH or NaOH additives.
The intelligent control platform integrates with the vehicle through a 16-pin OBD connector, with an optional 9-pin round connector for suitable heavy-duty applications. Engine information is used to intelligently coordinate trace hydrogen delivery with combustion activity.
Engineered for Commercial Environments
DH-Power is housed in a durable steel cabinet and supports both 12V and 24V electrical systems, making it suitable for a broad range of heavy commercial vehicles.
Its generator provides up to 900 ml/min hydrogen and oxygen output with a 4-liter water capacity, providing the greater production capability needed for large-displacement diesel engines.
